In our large playroom, you can play, have fun, and amuse yourself with your whole family – from babies to teens. Action right after breakfast? Want to play table football one more time after dinner? Want to climb up the climbing wall? This is the right place!

Go-karting in Pfatten (approx. from March to November depending on the weather, closed on Mondays)

16 bends on a one-kilometre course promise an adrenaline kick at the go-karting track in Pfatten. The excellent team makes sure that fun and safety is assured for all ages, from beginners to professionals. It’s definitely worth a try!

365 days of Renon/Ritten

Five minutes from Bolzano train station is the cable car to Renon/Ritten that takes you up to the high plateau in only 12 minutes. Right at the exit of the cable car you’ll find an electric panoramic train that takes you to the village of Klobenstein. The legendary earth pyramids are also well worth seeing: amazing creations made by nature. As an alternative, you could also walk around Lago di Costalovara/Wolfsgrubener See and visit the bee museum, not far from the lake. During Christmastime, Renon/Ritten tourist office organises a Christmas market, which is always worth a visit.

Roncolo/Runkelstein castle (all year round)

The castle was built in 1237 by the brothers Friedrich and Beral von Wangen. It houses one of the richest secular fresco collections of the Middle Ages – colourful images that fascinates both young and old. Situated on a large cliff, the castle watches over the whole of Bolzano. Culinary delights await you in the rustic castle tavern.

Val Sarentino/Sarntal in summer

In the wonderful Reinswald hiking region, in Val Sarentino/Sarntal, a cable car takes you up to Pichlberg mountain station. There, you can take part in guided hikes along the Trail of Legends (upon reservation) or enjoy beautiful and easy hikes with your children. Students from the Aberstückl primary school have portrayed nine legends from Val Sarentino/Sarntal on large boards along the path. Or you could also walk down the Urlesteig trail: a hike that’s perfect for the whole family. Here children can explore, run, or climb up a giant dragonfly.

You can reach Pichlberg mountain station with the cable car. There, you can enjoy one the most beautiful winter experiences: guided snowshoe hikes (upon reservation) through the enchanting, sparkling winter wonderland. Want to try out tobogganing? The 4.5km Reinswalder Wiesn toboggan run guarantees a speedy descent!

Ötzi and the South Tyrol Archaeology Museum (open all year round, except on Mondays)

The Iceman is probably the most famous person of all South Tyrol! That’s why three quarters of the exhibition is dedicated to the mummy from Similaun. In addition, various finds from excavations in South Tyrol are presented according to historical periods, with varying themes depending on the season. Our tip: The Ötzi app is sure to help your children have fun at the museum.

South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology and the city of Bolzano are approx. 10km away from Leifers and are therefore easy to reach. Bus lines 110, 111, 112 to Bolzano leave from right in front of our hotel and bring you to Walther square or the train station from 6 a.m. to 11.30 p.m. Buses run approx. every 15 minutes.

Museum of Nature (open all year round, closed on Mondays)

It’s the only nature museum in the province of Bolzano and gives a good overview of the varied South Tyrolean nature. In the museum’s permanent exhibition, you can learn about the history, culture, and natural environment of one of the most diverse Alpine regions and find out how the unique mountain landscape with its valleys and peaks came to be.
